Bhubaneswar: Deep-tech aerospace startup BonV Aero has been awarded the prestigious Certificate of Merit by the Electronic Industries Association of India (ELCINA) under the SME category for Excellence in Manufacturing.
This recognition highlights BonV Aero’s quality-driven production, indigenous innovation, and engineering-first approach in building advanced aerial platforms designed for India’s toughest terrains.

Established in 1976, the ELCINA Awards celebrate achievements in electronics and IT hardware manufacturing, driving Indian enterprises towards global competitiveness.

BonV Aero’s recognition at the awards reflects not only compliance with stringent quality standards but also its growing prominence in India’s defence and aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.
“This recognition validates our collective focus on manufacturing fundamentals,” said Roshan Senapati, Head of Marketing, BonV Aero, who received the award on behalf of the team.
The jury comprised notable leaders from India’s defence and manufacturing sectors, including Lt Gen AKS Chandele (Retd), N. Ramachandran, V V R. Sastry, Col K V Kuber, and S Ullal, adding weight to the endorsement.
A Track Record of Innovation and Recognition
The ELCINA honour is the latest in a series of accolades for BonV Aero, which has previously been:
- Recognised by the Indian Army for operational UAV deployments in remote forward areas
- Selected by the I2A Launchpad (US-India Defence Corridor) for dual-use UAV technology
- Featured in NITI Aayog’s 2022 Coffee Table Book as a leading Make in India aerospace innovation
- Acknowledged by STPI and MeitY as one of India’s emerging aerospace startups.
These recognitions underscore BonV Aero’s role as a manufacturing-led company making a tangible impact in both civilian and defence applications.

Built in Odisha, Proven in High-Altitude Deployments
Headquartered in Bhubaneswar, BonV Aero is an OEM and UAV design house specialising in fully electric eVTOL platforms optimised for high-altitude logistics, disaster relief, and defence operations.
In August 2023, the startup achieved a milestone by lifting a 30 kg payload at Umling La (19,024 ft AMSL), the world’s highest motorable pass. In June 2025, BonV Aero’s GPR drone was deployed during the Sikkim landslide response, supporting terrain scanning operations in collaboration with the Indian Army.
